The Painting That Started It All
Every artist has a first painting.
Mine began at a paint and sip in New York City, where I painted the Brooklyn Bridge.
At the time, I wasn’t thinking about becoming an artist or starting a business. I was simply trying something new.
As the painting took shape, the noise of everyday life faded away. For a few hours, there was only the canvas, the paint, and the quiet satisfaction of creating something with my own hands.
When I looked at the finished piece, I didn’t see perfection. I saw possibility.
Months would pass before I picked up a paintbrush again.
But the feeling stayed with me.
Long after the paint had dried, I found myself thinking about the peace I felt while creating and the joy of bringing something to life on a blank canvas. Looking back, I can see that a seed had been planted.
It’s fitting that my first painting was a bridge. In many ways, it became a bridge between who I was and the artist I would eventually become.
It wasn’t my best painting.
But it was the most important.
