Waiting
Some storms happen inside us.
Waiting was painted during a season of uncertainty, when I found myself caught between what was and what might be. The figure sits alone beneath an umbrella, surrounded by endless shades of gray. There is no destination in sight, no clear answer, only the passage of time.
I think many of us spend parts of our lives waiting.
Waiting for healing.
Waiting for clarity.
Waiting for someone to come back.
Waiting for the courage to move forward.
The emptiness surrounding the figure isn’t meant to represent hopelessness. It’s the space that exists when life is changing and the next chapter hasn’t revealed itself yet.
Looking back, this painting reminds me that waiting is rarely passive. Even when it feels like nothing is happening, we are learning, growing, grieving, and becoming.
Sometimes the hardest thing we’ll ever do is sit with uncertainty and trust that the rain won’t last forever.
Waiting is a reminder that even in our loneliest moments, we are still moving forward, one quiet day at a time.
